As many of you know, 2008 was a difficult year for me. The Tar Heels lost in the Final Four, Kellogg's stopped making my favorite brand of granola, and Blob's Park closed on January 1, 2008 after almost 80 years in existence. Home to a number of my birthday celebrations, Blob's Park is a Bavarian dance hall where grown people can go to drink cheap beer, consume salutary amounts of bockwurst, and do the chicken dance.
The erstwhile owners of Blob's must have felt my pain because they recently re-opened, just in time for the 2009 Karinauguration. Please join me in Jessup, Maryland (if you drive past the state penitentiary, you've gone too far) at 7 p.m. on Saturday, January 17th.
Blob's is not accessible by mass transit, so we'll have to pile into vehicles for the 30 minute ride north. Maybe watch this space for carpool information. And start honing your polka skills.

ReplyDeleteThat's great about Blobs! Is it reopened for good? Enjoy the bday, we'll be in NYC, but can have a belated celebration in the feedlot soon.
